A Little Gesture reports back...

We just filled in our FIRST ever accounts with the UK's Charity Commission. A very promising £16'823 raised on year1, of which £12'375 immediately applied on the ground in Mozambique.

Great but already way below our current whooping £95'000+ in 2012!

For all our supporters, a big Thank You and please see attached for your information.

The Centre Reborn to Hope

This week, thirty volunteers gave their best under the rain at Battersea Park and ran for the 160 orphans in CRPE. The Centre is named "Centre Reborn to Hope" and it hosts daily 160 orphans, who receive food, support and technical education under the care of Brother Licinio. The Centre is a day centre located in a water dam village in Chinhacanine, c. 30km from the city of Chokwe. Children range from 1 to 18 and typically live in the neighbourhood with a member of the family. They attend state school across the street and the centre is their basis of support.
Thanks to the 30 volunteers doing their Little Gesture, over £7000 were raised for the food of these children over the next 6 months. With corporate matching and the prize of the creative t-shirt, this may reach £10000, all applied towards their nutrition.
Thank you to all that made this dream possible!

Today ALG runs our second JP Morgan Corporate Challenge as a team. Some of us are quite energized, others not as much. The threat of rain, the lower fundraising than expected and, for many, work in general are putting some of the believers off.

But let's face it, we are doing good and just ensured £42 per child in the CRPE, or almost 4 months of food. We touched the hearts of 147 people and raised £6'716 including gift aid.

Today we received the fantastic news ALG has WON the JP Morgan Challenge T-shirt contest ($1'000). Thank you for voting!!

With the multiple matchings we hope to get, we will certainly ensure food until the end of the year.
A Little Gesture is done one step at a time, and this is one more big step for us, to add 160 children to our almost 1'000 children that we support in Mozambique. We thank everyone that made this moment possible and now just hope we can RUN!

And if you have not made your Litlle Gesture yet, we are sure the team would gladly still accept it!
