RPHM 2014 - Thank you runners for an amazing £20,978 raised!

On the 12th of October 2014, a team of 37 ALG Volunteers ran the RPHM - Royal Parks Half Marathon, one of the most popular 21km races through the four royal parks in London.

Our biggest team ever ran fast & generously to fundraise for the impoverished SLM school supported by ALG in Mozambique. In 2014 our intervention in SLM school financed an HIV/AIDS Day Care Centre housing 23 sick children and a School Feeding programme providing two daily meals to 803 children.

Net of running fees* and other race costs such as vests your effort brings an extraordinary £15'465 to our funding programme in SLM - it represents half a year of food for the whole school or almost 21 children attending the HIV centre a whole year.

The new HIV Centre gives a more dignified childhood to seriously ill children - a complete and personalised program, on a day care basis, ensuring an adequate nutrition plan and constant medical assistance with capacity for up to 50 children.
School Feeding improves education through the incentive of a free meal at school, fighting child dropouts and gender inequality.

ALG is a small UK-Portuguese charity helping over 11'500 people in Mozambique since 2004, made up of volunteers and your Little Gestures. Please remember if you have any donations or fee payments outstanding we apply 95p locally per pound donated so every penny makes a difference.
Have you done your request for Corporate Matching on your donation? We are here to help!

Thank you for your Little Gesture and we look forward to welcoming you next October on Team ALG 2015!

*A significant £5'513 as you contributed £50 each but ALG pays £125/runner
